Sheraton Birmingham Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama
On our 2018 road trip to Nashville, I talked my parents into taking a detour into Alabama and Mississippi, then stay over in Memphis, before heading to our initial destination.
Well, I did it. And we stayed in Birmingham — Steel City — for one night.
Now, if there’s one thing my family has learned when it comes to using our timeshare, it’s always ask for an upgrade. Even if you’re only staying for a night, it does not hurt to ask. You might just be upgraded from a regular hotel bedroom with two queen beds, to an apartment-style Presidential Suite.
Our room was on the 17th floor, and believe me, we were up pretty high. One look down, and one could get sick.
Now, let’s take a look at our “presidential suite.”
From the moment we walked in, it was like walking into an apartment — it had everything.
Even the big fancy door, with plants. What a grand entrance we made.
The living room space, including a flatscreen television, couch (which was very comfy), and a bathroom to the right [not pictured].
We even had another door to enter and exit the room, where a mini-kitchen space was.
And a dining room table. As if we were feeding an army!
Even had a desk with these decorations; does the ‘S’ stand for Sheraton, or Simas?
The master bedroom, which included a spa tub, shower, bathroom, and a massive closet.
Outside our window overlooked the vibrant ‘Uptown District’ of downtown Birmingham.
With our time share, we receive a club lounge, which includes complimentary breakfast, evening hors d’oeuvres, as well as snacks and beverages throughout the day.
Even though it was only a night, everything about this hotel was the definition of modern southern hospitality. Maybe next time I won’t see the presidential suite, but it surely was a great experience!
Till next time, Steel City!
